Speaker for Project Ploughshares Internship Program
Would anyone, any congregation, be interested in inviting Ms. Laura Ashfield to speak about her experience as an intern for Project Ploughshares? She is an engaging and articulate presenter. Ms. Ashfield is the intern for Year 2 (Sept. 2009 to May 2010).
Click here to view the news release announcing Ms. Ashfield’s appointment last fall.
If the presbytery is interested in having Ms. Ashfield address an upcoming meeting, please contact Stephen Allen (sallen@presbyterian.ca) or Katharine Masterton (kmasterton@presbyterian.ca). Costs in having Ms. Ashfield speak to the presbytery will be covered by the program.
There may be young adults who would be interested in hearing Ms. Ashfield’s presentation and in learning about the Peace and Human Security Internship Program. This Program is intended to contribute to developing and nurturing future leadership on global issues in The Presbyterian Church in Canada.

Visit by Rev. Emmanuel Ariel in 2010
In 2008 on recommendation of Knox Guelph Session, the Presbytery supported the visit of the Rev. Emmanuel Ariel of the Bhil Field in India to our Presbytery as a missionary-in-residence.  However, the visit scheduled for May of 2008 had to be postponed because his visa was issued too late to allow his scheduled visit to Canada.
We have every reason to believe that because he was finally issued the visa in 2008 that a visa will be issued now without any problem.
If by early April there are open dates then we will provide the opportunity for congregations/presbyterials, etc. close to us to invite him to be with them. Please contact Wilma Welsh for information.

St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church celebrated its 180th Anniversary with an invitation to all faith communities to build "My Neighbour’s House" in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Wellington County."My Neighbour’s House" was the first ever Multi-Faith Habitat Build in Wellington County. Together with other faith communities, St. Andrew's met its goal and built the house that faith built!
The dedication ceremony for the house - the home - on Johnston Street, Guelph, was held on Saturday, December 12, 2009 and the family has moved in. St. Andrew's members and friends have shown what it means to be "a place to call home".

Knox Church in Waterloo seeking two DVD series
Knox Church in Waterloo is interested in viewing the dvd series "Living the Questions" and we're wondering if any other churches in our Presbytery might own a set (and would be willing to rent them) and/or have viewed them. We are also interested in the dvd series (from the same company) called "Saving Jesus".
Please contact Rev. Linda Ashfield at Knox at 519-886-4150
